New York State barred the use of Indigenous imagery and mascots in the spring of 2023. One of the mascot names included in this is Southern Cayuga’s mascot, “The Chiefs.” As a result, Southern Cayuga is in the process of determining a new mascot to represent Southern Cayuga with pride. More information on this can be found on our school website, https://www. southerncayuga.org/1041.
