We are in the midst of our local 2021 tax collection. As Town Supervisor, I thought you might like an explanation of the town's resources. Here is a breakdown of the taxes collected by the town tax collector; the majority of the taxes collected are sent on to the county. On average, 77% of your tax payment goes to the county, 16% remains in the town and 7% is given to the fire district.
Within the town, our budget for 2021 is approximately $1,200,000.00. Seventy percent of the budget is for the Highway Department and 30% is for the General Fund. The Real Estate taxes for the town total $271,237.00. We are estimating receipt of $560,000.00 in Sales Tax revenue from Cayuga County. We will receive $51,931.00 from the county for plowing some of their roads in the town. We are also hoping to receive $132,000.00 in state aid for highway maintenance. Finally, we are upgrading our loader and pickup truck and expect to sell the used ones for $124,000.00, while the new equipment will cost $226,050.00.
